You've had apple cake before, but we bet you've never had one this easy to make. No bowls required. It's another one of grandma's favorites.

“Our trademark reflects our desire to provide true fast food, but at the same time provide restaurant-type service,” says owner Sherry Lin. “And by the response we’ve gotten from customers, especially our drive-thru customers, we are succeeding.” Employees at Farmer Boys are trained to go above and beyond what you typically find, service wise, at fast food establishments. “Hospitality is the key. Our workers check orders, work extra hard at being polite, and make sure you get all of the condiments, and napkins you need,” added Lin. “You shouldn’t have to ask. They’ll ask you.”
Lin is not new at this. She owns two other Farmer Boys in the Irwindale area. Her Lancaster store employees about 45 people, and is doing a booming business.
The menu runs from the basic morning fare of pancakes, eggs, and French toast, to lunch and dinner time hamburgers, sandwiches, fried chicken, shrimp, steak, and salads. Their house burger – the Farmer’s Burger, is something special. It consists of two fresh all-beef patties, cheese, bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, and 1000 island dressing on a sesame seed bun, all for just $4.85. “The Farmer’s Burger was voted LA’s best in 2002 by KCBS TV in Los Angeles," said Lin. Other
award winners from the chain include the deep-fried zucchini and our monster-sized onion rings.

Considering the good service you’ll grow to expect at Farmer’s Burger, the prices are very attractive as well. The most expensive item on the menu is the flame broiled steak at $9.29. Most of the sandwiches and burgers are under $5, with the exceptions being the East Coast Pastrami and the Mediterranean Gyros. For the health conscious, they offer the Gardenburger and the Garden Veggie sandwich.

The first Farmer Boys restaurant opened in 1981, in Perris, California. By 1997, the chain had grown to eight establishments. The owners, the Havadjias brothers, began offering franchises in 1998. Today, over 50 Farmer Boys are operating in Southern California, primarily in and around the Inland Empire.
