More common and visible then the Black-Tailed Jackrabbit, the local cottontail population, cyclical in nature, peaked in the spring and summer of 2006 following heavy rainfall during the previous winter. Now, with over a year of drought, we are seeing fewer and fewer in the surrounding desert

Mountain High Reaches Out to Military
Wrightwood, CA– December 15, 2007: In an unprecedented measure of support for our troops, Mountain High has reversed is policy on Military Discounts making them good during the holidays. This comes after an email from a guest noted that her son would be home from Iraq for Christmas but unable to take advantage of the armed-forces discount.
The note read, “We have purchased season tickets for our four children since we moved to Phelan in 2001. Now all of my children are in the military and some are coming home for Christmas but your military discount blocks out the entire vacation time! How is it considered supporting the Military when the most probable time they would use your resort, they are not allowed the discount?”
Says John McColly, Director of Marketing, “That email made more sense than any I have ever read. Traditionally we don’t allow discounts of any sort during the holidays because they are our busiest times. But once I showed this to several managers, we unanimously agreed to change our policy regarding Military discounts and make them good during the holidays. The same applies to Police and Fire too.”
Military, Police and Fire personnel can now get an adult, 8-Hour lift ticket for just $44.00 seven days-a-week when they show their active-duty ID. That is up to $18.00 off the regular rate or a 30% savings. Night tickets are also discounted to just $23.00 seven nights-a-week, a $12.00 savings during the holidays.
Mountain High welcomes all members of the Military and wishes to convey its most sincerest gratitude during this holiday and throughout the coming year. For more information, please contact John McColly, Director of Marketing, at (760) 316-7803 or john@mthigh.com.
The local ski resort has reversed a policy, making their slopes more affordable to military personnel during the Holiday Season
