**DESCRIPTION: ** RESPONSIBILITIES * Ensure the broadcast television news infrastructure is in in good order at all times. * Ensure numerous non-linear edit (NLE) systems, ingest, capture, storage, and transcode servers are operational and ready for demanding use in a frenetic enterprise broadcast-to-air environment by means of pro-active hardware and software maintenance, licensing, equipment upgrades and installations, system administration, and OS image creation and network deployment. * Bring technical expertise to workflow improvement and technical interchange meetings with the ability to communicate solutions to various stakeholders in an unpretentious manner. **QUALIFICATIONS: ** Required: * * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or Computer or Software Engineering.
- 5 – 10+ years in a live broadcast television news environment managing numerous non-linear edit systems (NLE) in non-fiction, network or high-volume production company * Current Avid Certified Support Representative (ACSR – “ELITE”) Certification; Editor, Shared Storage (ISIS and NEXIS), Interplay | Production, and MediaCentral platform * Expert in Avid, Final Cut Pro, Adobe CC, Davinci Resolve, Nucoda, and ProTools, * Working knowledge of UHD/4K cameras, UHD/4K workflows * Extensive practical experience in post-production environments using advanced video CODECs and complex file-based workflows using transcoding systems such as Telestream Vantage, Adobe Media Encoder, Apple Compressor. * Comprehensive system administration experience (Windows Server, Active Directory, and DNS) * Knowledge of IP networks, protocols and hardware * Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively guide, support, and escalate anomalies for all end-users in a live 24/7 broadcast facility * Working knowledge of Cisco switches, virtual machines, Microsoft image deployments using SCCM/MDT, Red Hat Linux, and file transport and automation systems (Aspera/Signiant) * Engage and be expected to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal as well as outside clients / program providers. * A 24/7 television environment, qualified candidates must be able and willing to work flexible hours, early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays. * Team-player who operates in a fast paced team-oriented setting * Candidates who have worked as Broadcast Engineers, Post-Production Managers, Post-Production Supervisors, or Media Managers are highly encouraged to apply.
