Videographer
Pre-Production Support and Studio/Equipment Maintenance
Work closely with the Program Manager of Distance and Online Learning to discuss scheduled recordings, video production standards, and assigned project details and deliverables.
Use an organizational system to track action items and multiple project timelines.
Set up the Leeds recording studio prior to the sessions; ensure all equipment is working correctly and prepare lights, cameras, TriCaster, and microphone; when recording outside of the studio, responsible for the transport, set-up and tear down of equipment in the selected location.
Maintain studio conditions to ensure the space and equipment is clean, organized and functional; maintain a list of equipment and its appropriate location.
Collaborate with LTS (Leeds Technology Services) for routine equipment maintenance and repairs.
Make recommendations on new equipment and notify the Program Manager when equipment is not working correctly or is outdated.
Video Production
Onboard faculty during their visits to the studio; provide coaching and feedback to faculty while in the studio to maintain video standards and faculty performance.
Capture video content in studio and other locations as scheduled; adjust equipment, background, and subjects as needed to produce the best footage possible.
Confirm all graphic needs for class videos with the faculty including slides, title that gets added to the tracker.
Video Post-Production
Review RAW footage from classroom recordings/Zoom sessions/off-campus shoots and upload files to the assigned cloud storage; input the appropriate file information in the designated Master Tracker document; edit/cut/compose footage and correct lighting, coloring and audio of faulty footage as needed.
Ensure all videos have Leeds branded elements and that branding is consistent with program and Leeds standards.
Add an artistic vision to the videos to improve student engagement with content and retention of information. This includes selecting music, inputting graphics and animations as needed or requested.
Keep professors informed about the status of their videos, delays in the editing process, or if additional content is needed.
Maintain communications with the student editors and/or external contractors, as needed.
Conduct a final review of the videos to correct any errors and ensure playability, quality, and branding.
Maintain a video file system and responsibility for the organization and category of all files inside the professors and projects folders in the assigned cloud storage.
Meet with faculty to improve and share feedback for their classroom recordings or Zoom recorded videos. This includes making recommendations about camera positioning, background, equipment, or joining during the selected recording time to ensure everything was captured.
Research and propose new styles of editing or adding animated elements to the videos.
