The hybrid RGB laser plus phosphor light source is meant to deliver 4K cinema images without the full footprint of a traditional booth projector. Installers notice the difference on first lift. The smaller chassis and lower weight change how many people are needed to carry the head up service elevators or through corridors that never saw a film projector before.

Load-in paths and elevator limits Hospital corridors and service lifts rarely match theater loading docks. The projector's reduced dimensions let a two-person crew move it on a standard cart instead of a lift gate and pallet jack. Power runs stay short because the unit can sit closer to the screen than older 20k-lumen frames. Cable paths still need planning. The IMB-S4 sits inside the same chassis, so one multi-conductor run carries both power and the 4K signal. Techs report the connector layout leaves little slack for the tight 90-degree turns common behind temporary partitions.

Geometry recalibration routine Every strike and reset adds risk to convergence and color. The CP4420m-RGBH uses CineLife+ electronics, but repeated transport still requires a quick geometry check before doors open. Technicians torque the lens mount bolts to 2.5 Nm after each reposition, then run the built-in auto-convergence cycle that finishes in four minutes before a final manual pass on a 10 percent grid. Quiet operation versus ward acoustics Hospital screenings happen at night or during low-traffic hours. One crew member noted that the same unit on an outdoor date later required a different exhaust path because ambient temperature climbed and the fans ramped up. The hospital setting masked that behavior.

Power and signal integration on carts

Crews run the single 25-meter hybrid cable from a wall outlet rated at 16 A, using a C19 connector that locks into the projector inlet to prevent accidental disconnect during patient transfers. The same cable carries the 4K signal, so any bend radius under 50 mm forces a second check with a cable tester before the first reel starts.

What stays the same on the truck

The 20,000-lumen output and 19 m screen limit have not changed from larger Christie frames. Picture quality on the test screenings met the same bar as fixed commercial sites. The variable is only how much time the crew spends wrestling the chassis into position. Quote similar pop-up work with an extra hour blocked for first load-in to map the actual path, not the one on the floor plan. Subsequent dates drop to normal times once the route is known.
