About the Job
We’re looking for an experienced Avid assistant editor to work in the field.
This position will combine aspects of media managing with the tasks of an AE. The ideal candidate will be embedded in the field for about 1 month, between Thanksgiving to December 18.
• Corporate housing will be provided
• $1750/week + perdiem
• 4-5 shoots dates per week, though it would be dependent on talent, so it’s not a Monday-Friday position.
They’d be responsible for backing up the media, transcoding and later grouping.
The typical work day would begin when production wraps for the day, so figure this is an evening/night position. Production will drop off the media at the end of each shoot day, the AE should start to back up the RAW material to a RAID, and then to a mirrored shuttle drive.
Experience with Shotput Pro is a plus.Once completed, the material will be transcoded to an additional shuttle drive. Then that day’s shoot should be grouped. At the end of the week, the AE will be responsible for sending 2 shuttle drives: 1) RAW shuttle – all RAW material from the previous week 2) MXF shuttle* – all transcoded material from previous week. – Should also include all grouped work.
The expectation will be 75% of footage to be grouped weekly.
This is a significant role on a long running and popular cable TV franchise so please only reach out if you’re experienced in Avid Media Composer and familiar with the described tasks.
