Morning News – Anchor/Reporter – WTOC Information

About WTOC:
WTOC-TV is the Gray Television-owned CBS affiliate in Savannah Georgia, servicing 20 counties in the South Georgia Coastal Empire and three counties in the South Carolina Lowcountry.

WTOC-TV, the dominant CBS affiliate in Savannah, GA, is seeking an experienced anchor/reporter to join our morning team. The right candidate will not only love local news, but have a positive attitude, a hard work ethic, excel at writing for both broadcast and digital platforms, and be a team player. Applicant must also have superior editorial judgement, the ability to enterprise stories, be capable of communicating effectively with audience and staff, and have proven leadership abilities. This position also includes anchoring and turning content for our lifestyle news program called Morning Break. This is not a “traditional old-school” morning anchoring opportunity. Please only apply if you are looking to both anchor and turn unique content on a weekly basis.

-Co-Anchor our 2.5 hour morning newscasts.
-Co-Anchor our 1 hour lifestyle news show called Morning Break.
-Turn at least 2 pieces a week for Morning Break.
-Assist in developing morning coverage plans.
-Fill-in on other newscasts as needed.
-Editing own content.
-Writing digital versions of broadcast stories.
-Will be trained on how to shoot, though normally will have a photographer to work with.
-Assist in special projects.

At least 4 years of reporting and anchoring experience at a commercial television station required. College degree in journalism or related field. Drug screen and MVR check required.
