QSC Introduces New CX-Q Series Network Power Amplifiers

What Makes CX-Q Series Network Amplifiers Unique

 

 

On September 26th, 2019, QSC announced the global availability of the CX-Q Series network power amplifiers in four-channel models. What makes these power amplifiers unique is their ability to combine QSC’s high-performance and reliable amplifier design with the native network transport, control and monitoring capabilities of the Q-SYS Ecosystem.

Like any of the Q-SYS amplifiers, the CX-Q Series provides a drag-and-drop design integration, advanced telemetry and a monitoring function through the Q-SYS Reflect Enterprise Manager. The CX-Q series also accomplishes this task through the use of an elevated audio experience when used with QSC loudspeakers.

The superb technological sophistication of the CX-Q Series was further discussed by QSC’s Senior Director of Amplifier Product Development, Sanjay Kulkarni when he stated that “The addition of CX-Q Series amplifiers to a Q-SYS design is an ideal illustration of a true, native ecosystem approach to system design.” Sanjay also went on to say that “Not only are integrators able to take advantage of a next-generation amplifier design, they can also take advantage of native, signature features and technologies, including Intrinsic Correction™ loudspeaker voicings. This native approach can greatly reduce installation and setup time while maximizing performance across the entire system, allowing integrators to deliver the most optimal experience for the end customer.”

 

Additional CX-Q Series Features

 

 

The CX-Q Series network amplifiers work to utilize a highly efficient, Class-D hybrid powertrain design that is built upon the dependable PL380 PowerLight amplifier platform, which has been installed in mission-critical installations around the world.

The CX-Q Series also features two QSC amplifier innovations – FlexAmp™ and FAST (Flexible Amplifier Summing Technology™. These features work as a combination that offers far more fluid power distribution options in a single amplifier.

 

 

The CX-Q Series also allows the integrator to choose between “Q” models, with network inputs as well as routable mic/line audio inputs that provide additional on-ramps to the Q-SYS Ecosystem, or “Qn” models, that feature only network audio inputs that reduce system cost whenever additional inputs become unnecessary. All models are capable of Low Z, 70 V, and 100 V direct drive.

The CX-Q Series network amplifiers combine a legacy of robust power amplifiers, advancements in high-efficiency output devices, and native network transport, control and monitoring capabilities of the Q-SYS Ecosystem. The Series also features four-and eight-channel models with capabilities that allow it to deliver customized power output loading as well as a total maximum power of up to 8000 W.

 

The Q-SYS  Ecosystem

 

 

The Q-SYS Ecosystem is a software-based platform that is built around an open IT-friendly ecosystem. It leverages the power of Intel processing, the robustness and mission-critical reliability of a Linux operating system, and the interoperability of IEEE networking standards. It is this IT-centric layered approach that has allowed QSC to migrate the Q-SYS Ecosystem to other Intel platforms as they continue to introduce new, faster chipsets, and to other off-the-shelf hardware.
