Ryan Salazar is the Editor-In-Chief, Publisher and Founder of AV Beat and Broadcast Beat. Ryan previously wrote for Broadcast Engineering Magazine and Creative COW. He has worked in broadcast and post production since the age of twelve and has a true passion for production toys! Ryan is also the Executive Producer of NAB Show LIVE and has worked closely with the National Association of Broadcasters for almost ten years now!
Curtis Chan
Curtis is the Senior Editor for AV Beat, serves on the SMPTE editorial board, and is a regularly featured Contributing Editor for many US and international trade publications for over 30 years. Curtis is also the Founder and Managing Partner of COGNITIVE IMPACT and President and CEO of CHAN & ASSOCIATES, two high-tech brand marketing, and public relations firms focusing in the M&E and IT markets for over two decades.
Gary Rhodes
Currently working with AV Beat, as their Eastern US and International Sales Manager, Gary successfully launched a cross platform media rep firm in 1996. Gary has extensive experience in the media and entertainment industry in all areas of marketing including; print and digital centric advertising, database management, lead gen programs, event sponsorships, and social media, with direct client interaction.
Jeff Victor
Jeff Victor handles AV Beat's Western United States advertising sales. Jeff is well versed in conducting digital marketing and demand generation programs as well as live and online events. Jeff has held several roles in the industry from group publisher as well as sales and sales management positions within the media & entertainment sector.
Barbara Proctor
Director of Studio Services
Barbara manages AV Beat's day-to-day operations, works directly with Ryan and maintains internal data systems. She's a master at business operations as she has owned several very successful businesses herself!
Matthew Harchick
Industry knowledge of current standards and emerging media technologies; extensive experience in short- and long term strategic planning, improvisational leadership methodologies, budget allocation, and technology research. Specific background in broadcast production management, digital media system design and integration, audio visual production implementation, broadcast and project management planning procedures. Utilizing all work experience for educational, theatrical, commercial, broadcast, corporate, and multimedia projects.
Robert Dunfee
Robert has decades of audio/video engineering experience and maintains AV Beat's 6,000 square foot facility in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Robert also produces, directs and runs many of our internal shoots. Set lighting, Audio engineer, video switcher operator, facility re-wires.....the list goes on...and on.....and on! Robert is our tech guy and collaborates with Ryan on productions every day.
Steve Lipsey
Steve Lipsey is a technical director / director of more than thirty years who started his career at CNN in the early eighties. As a bilingual English and Spanish speaker, he has had the opportunity to direct in Spanish for Telemundo, Discovery en Español, MTV Latino and Univision. He also technical directs professional and college sports on the major and cable networks and is a NewTek Tricaster operator for broadcast and corporate events.
Jeff Adams
Jeff Adams is an individual who has devoted the last 24 years of his life to Entertainment Industry, and the last 8 years to internet broadcasting. He has developed a broad base of knowledge in video and Audio streaming .He has hosted The Jeff Adams Show for the last three years. The show is a Creative Tech Comedy show. The Theme of the show is “What Technology do you use to be Creative” The show is geared to Broadcasters, podcasters and streaming Entertainers.
Nikki Broeckelmann
Nikki Brockelmann.....what can we say. She's crazy. Crazy in a good way and everyone loves chatting with her on-camera! Nikki loves to talk about augmented and virtual reality technology and she's all about the spotlight!
Jaimi Alexander
Jaimi Alexander is a Los Angeles-based actress, a spokes-model, an entrepreneur and a producer. With credits in film, television, web video and radio, her true passion is connecting people within this ‘community of fearless creation.’ Devoted to her craft, her personality, charm and enthusiasm is contagious. Her on-camera presence lures audiences in. This down to earth aura comes from her ability to draw interviewees out by engaging them in genuine conversation. She’s hosted many red carpet events for award shows including the Diversity Awards and the Soul Train Awards. She continues to host events in Los Angeles and New York City, two of Jaimi’s favorite hot spots.

Brian Seth Hurst is regarded internationally as an expert on the strategy, construction, business modeling and maintenance of storyworlds for storytellers, franchises, technology companies and brands and the evolving conversation/collaboration between the storyteller and the audience. Highly committed to the informed collaboration between storytellers and technologists he is regarded as a subject matter expert in the burgeoning field of Virtual Reality. Brian has been key strategist for innovation by some of the world’s best-known brands including TVGuide, Showtime, TiVo, Virgin America, BT, NBCUniversal, Endemol, SVT(Sweden) and Intel. He is also creator and executive producer of “DetermiNATION2016,” a new project from Bunim/Murray.

For over two decades Jeanette DePatie has served as a pioneer in marketing, interactive technology and content development. She has put her considerable expertise to work in communications at all levels from helping an executive team at a Monsanto subsidiary roll out an international product launch, to helping small children learn about the human body in a set-top game for the latest Magic School Bus® DVD. Jeanette has also produced content for a wide variety of clients including Adobe, Disney, Fox, Google, HBO, Konami, Panasonic, Paramount, Sony, Universal, and Warner Bros.
Norman Berns
Norman C. Berns has a 40 year history of producing award-winning productions and ground breaking commercials. He recently completed work with Miami PD’s SWAT unit for French TV’s “The Insider”. He previously produced and directed the three-part PBS series on the history of writing, “The Writing Code” and won an Emmy for his “intermission features” created for the Metropolitan Opera. He was line producer on television’s first super-gritty, almost-reality cop show, The Street, for Universal and the CBS series, Wish You Were Here. He is owner of Yahoo’s only Budgeting Group and LinkedIn’s 200,000 member Film and Television Professionals. Norman is a member of DGA, SAG and AEA.
Kate Cooley
Kate Cooley graduated with a Bachelors degree in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University in 2013. Kate's experience is very well-rounded in the entertainment industry as she has worked in radio, television and the silver screen. The 2016 NAB Show will be Kate's third year working for AV Beat during the duration of the NAB Show. Kate keeps our massive social media audience informed and up-to-date with the most exciting AV Beat happenings. In addition to social media she has also had a hand in working with the film crew and production. Kate currently resides in Las Vegas.
Trevor Yuen
Trevor has been working with AV Beat’s production staff since 2014. He’s worked both behind-the-scenes with our editors, as well as on the show floor with camera crews. He has a great eye for composition and content, which always keeps our social media content interesting. Trevor resides in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Nick Wracan
Nick Wracan is a creative media professional, with a Bachelor's Degree in New Media.  He is well-skilled in production techniques and is highly familiar with the newest technology used in the media industry today. His specific talent involves post-production in digital filmmaking, and he has performed various functions in in both production and post-production sections in digital filmmaking, including line producing, editing, and after effects.  Nick currently resides in Michigan.
