Responsible for assisting in the overall initiatives and objectives for the Creative and Emerging Media department, digital and print, for the University of Nebraska Athletics Department. Primary responsibilities include acting as the primary representative for the creative and emerging media department with selected sports. Assisting those sports in the creation of branding pieces used online and their printed counterparts for fan engagement and recruiting initiatives, assisting in social and digital media creative campaigns including web design and content creation. Managing graphic design student development program and work with other designers and creative personnel in the creative and emerging media department on cross sport projects, including but not limited to posters, media guide covers and schedule cards. Other duties may be assigned in relation to Creative and Emerging Media projects as they arise.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree plus three (3) years’ experience in web and digital media design and development. Work history will show proficiency in email, word processing and spreadsheet software. Experience with Adobe creative software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash and InDesign. Working knowledge in HTML , CSS and various Content Management Systems. Excellent oral and written communication skills and excellent organizational skills necessary. Applicants must supply a strong portfolio of previous work.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidate will have experience working in college athletics. Social Media marketing experience. Supervisory experience. Working knowledge of PHP , JQuery, Flash and other web languages. Working knowledge of video and still cameras.
