Production Support Engineer

Position: Production Support Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with internal customers/employees to identify platform problems and advising on the solution
  • Design, deployment, implementation and execution patterns for support of internal customers globally.
  • Handle and resolve requests for core platforms and activities directly and /or with support from teams within CIS and Level 4 partners.
  • Logging and keeping records of customer/employee queries
  • Analyzing call logs so you can spot common trends and underlying problems
  • Updating self-help documents so customers/employees can try to fix problems themselves
  • Working with field engineers to visit customers/employees if the problem is more serious
  • Establish good working principals for how to address concerns quickly and effectively.
  • As an engineer you may be called upon to work on core platforms and/or its implementation to ensure up to date skills and proficiency on platforms. This may include general application development activities, including unit testing, code deployment to development environment and technical documentation.
  • Be able to analyze a problem and choose the best solution in-line with enterprise standards and in adhering to global platform architecture. Tracking of issues through completion, documentation enhancement and reporting
  • Contribute to training and self-service support options (blog, forum, internal confluence as needed)
  • Help maintain reference implementation of enterprise software stack.
  • Keep technical skills and knowledge of Equifax enterprise technology platforms and service offerings current by closely working with core engineers
  • Detailed knowledge of standards based architectures as they apply across multiple IT platforms.
  • Deep, up to date, technical knowledge of mid-range technologies.
  • Modern software development lifecycles including Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
  • Perform complex bug verification, and beta support for assigned products

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years of strong application development experience in developing highly scalable and available systems
  • 3+ years of experience in developing web-based transactional applications using Java
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies
  • Understanding of Continuous Delivery concepts and technology
  • Knowledgeable about securing an end-to-end distributed system

Preferred Skills:

  • Scala
  • No SQL (Mongo, Cassandra, etc.)
  • Experience building web services and cloud applications using Azure, AWS, or other cloud platforms (i.e. CloudFoundry) or have worked on developing one of these platforms.
  • Expertise in Web Services, REST, Cloud platforms (AWS, MS Azure, CloudFoundry, Kubernetes etc)
  • Eclipse
  • Maven, Gradle, GIT
  • Angular, Bootstrap
  • Spring Cloud, Spring Boot
  • Liferay, Tomcat, MongoDB, Cassandra
  • Experience working with user interfaces with HTML 5 and Mobile platforms

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or equivalent experience
