What part will you play?

The Network Systems Engineer II will be responsible for the system administration and maintenance of the Broadcast Network Environment. Functions include the daily maintenance of the system to ensure proper operation, management of security to ensure the network, and documentation pertaining to maintenance, security, and use of the network. The Network Systems Engineer II will also acts as an interface to other departments/groups to provide in support in adding new equipment to the network. As a Network Systems Engineer II, this position is expected to complete assigned tasks with some help (at times) from your senior team members.

What will you be doing?

Perform preventative maintenance on infrastructure components to ensure optimal system performance

Respond to trouble calls and facilitate corporate action and response

Provide 24×7 customer support in relation to Network issues

Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, communicate resolution of issues through appropriate channels

Troubleshoot system problems with maintenance team & more senior network specialists

Once investigations are complete document the resolution steps for future use

Develop, implement, and communicate procedures for network troubleshooting, network recovery practices, and security measures to protect against network service attacks

Develop and implement system testing procedures, programming, and documentation as they relate to Security products/services, and quality of service

Work with project teams, to recommend new hardware and technologies, prioritize system upgrades, and expansion

Work with project teams and installation engineers to ensure hardware, operating system, and network compatibility

Manage assets and performance of the Network Infrastructure

Maintain Network performance by monitoring all aspects of the systems architecture

Analyze and resolve issues using strong troubleshooting methods

Work with vendors to identify software tools to allow us to better monitor system performance and resource utilization

Conduct audit of system to determine system health

Utilize vendor supplied software tools to better support the individual technologies

Research new technologies to assist in future infrastructure projects, as well as to improve existing network systems, and processes; must be able to assist in presenting these ideas to a larger group

Oversee network management, system integration, and monitoring systems

Maintain documentation regarding system routing tables, security schemes, and user access

Maintain/monitor network load balancing, and firewall system

Assist in documenting work plans to complete tasks within outage windows; then archive for use in future

What do we require from you?

3-5 years relevant work experience

Minimum 3 years experience with Cisco equipment (Nexus, Catalyst, ASA, UCS)

Demonstrable experience with some of the following: IT LAN, Wan Network infrastructure, protocols, security systems, firewalls (Palo Alto preferred)

Experience with network management systems: O’Brien, NetBrain, Stealthwatch

Network design and engineering

SNMP Protocols and Management

CISSP, CCNA, CCSA, RHCE, SANs Certification preferred

AS Degree in Computer Science, (Information Systems or related fields) or equivalent experience

Broadcast experience/knowledge a plus; Evertz preferred
