Freelance Video Maintenance Engineer/ Technician

Emerson College is looking to hire temporary/freelance Technicians to assist with the growing demands of the College. This position is a project-based role under the supervision of the Manager of Film Post Production, and the Video Technical Supervisor.

This person will get involved with TRF post production technical operations to meet student and faculty needs.

Primary Duties, Responsibilites, and Tasks

Technical supervisor of all digital labs (DPL 1, DPL 2, VEL), and film and video post production suites.

Provides oversight and technical support for software and hardware in the film and digital post production areas.

Specializes in video and new media technologies.

Responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting of all post production facilities to ensure optimum functionality for all users.

Researches new software and hardware products and techniques.

Provides technical and operational expertise during the implementation process.

Interfaces with TRF Design and Integration area and IT Lab Operations as appropriate.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Education (including hardware, software, and equipment)

3+ years technical support-based experience in a professional video post production environment. Post production experience with a variety of workflows (SD through 4K+).

Preferred/Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Education (including hardware, software, and equipment)

Knowledge of advanced color correction, visual effects, Davinci Resolve, Pro Tools, Linux and DCP formatting.

Analog video/film experience.

Monitor and projector color calibration experience.

Knowledge of studio/facility design, installation, wiring, and equipment troubleshooting.

Required Prior Work Experience

3+ years technical support-based experience in professional video post production environment.

Post production experience with a variety of workflows (SD through 4K+).
