About the Job

We are seeking an experienced anchor to join our evening news team.

Our anchors are leaders who participate in the planning of our shows and produce content regularly.
The ideal candidate will possess strong presentation skills with the ability to pitch enterprise unique stories as well as cover breaking and hard news.
Strong live skills are required. The candidate will display professionalism and personality both on and off the air.
This position requires a strong work ethic, broad knowledge of current affairs, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
The candidate must have a proven presence on social media and be as comfortable in the social media world as they are in broadcasting.
Must adhere to station management standards regarding social media.
The candidate must operate with a high degree of journalistic ethics, emotional intelligence, and must demonstrate an ability to develop and nurture a natural connection to people and the community. You must be a voracious news consumer, engaged in our community, and willing to make public appearances in addition to participating in station-sponsored events.
In addition to a strong presence in the field and on the anchor desk, the successful candidate will be a leader in the newsroom by advocating for important stories in communities throughout the Central Valley and Southern California area.

Sharp video shooting and editing skills
Exemplary communication skills
Knowledge of the Central Valley and Southern California is a plus
Requirements and Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of anchoring experience
Minimum 4 years of on-camera experience in a medium or major market preferred.
Past anchoring and reporting experience required
Degree in Journalism or related field
Exceptional written communications skills using a conversational writing style
Strong editorial judgment and a proven ethical foundation
Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Must be willing to travel for special assignments
