Chemical R&D Engineer

The successful candidate will work as a member of a government contractor team conducting Research & Development (R&D) to integrate Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) emerging technologies into defeat paths of underground facilities. Work will support annual exercises and deliberate planning to prepare for real-world contingencies in a fast-paced, high-tempo environment within a military/intelligence facility.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Use contacts within the command to socialize DTRA R&D technologies to support operations planning and execution.

• Advise the COCOM on existing and emerging Hard Target defeat pathways within the AOR.

• Work within a matrixed team to include imagery analysts, geologists, all source analysts and targeteers to translate characterization analysis to construct Underground Targeting & Analysis System (UTAS)/ Integrated Munitions Effects Assessment (IMEA) 3-D models for computing munitions effects and damage estimates of selected facilities.

• Brief senior officials regarding capability trends and analysis.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering/hard science discipline with a minimum of 8 to 12 years engineering experience.

• Strong background in military/intelligence operations.

• Familiar with Geospatial Information Systems (GIS)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to successfully brief and interact with Senior Officials.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

• Must be a self-starter, able to work independently

• Candidate must possess an active TS/SCI, or a Top Secret clearance with a current SSBI, and be eligible to obtain a TS/SCI w/ ploy level clearance.

ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS (but not required):

• Master’s degree in an Engineering/Science discipline.

• Military targeting experience.

• Military combat plans or operations experience
