NICET level III certification and 5 years experience with fire suppression systems. Requires an expert working knowledge of fire system piping and sprinkler design, AutoCAD 2D, test and development; and maintenance and field operations of fire systems.
Job Description
Designs, maintains and supports construction of fire suppression systems, e.g. piping, pumps and sprinklers. Acts as NICET certified leader for mechanical technicians doing maintenance.
The Facilities Fire System Engineer will be a member of a multi-discipline engineering team responsible for general fire system engineering design, field testing and verification, and detailed analysis roles.
The role will include developing concepts using AutoCAD 2D software, participating in design reviews, developing engineering drawings, and supporting change activities.
Due to the variety of work products, the candidate will need a flexible and adaptable skill set, with a strong learning orientation.
Accomplishes and/ or supports design reviews, verification of as-builts, creation of controlled drawing sets, consolidation of multiple generations/ standards/ definitions.
Active involvement in outage recoveries. Stays abreast of and shares out the latest code updates and “state of the market” thinking on fire system engineering and maintenance approaches.
Must be comfortable within a rapid development environment; able to execute within short time lines and a given budget. Shall pay attention to detail, exhibit strong interpersonal skills, have ability to multitask, good organization skills, be computer literate, and desire to thrive in a team environment.
