Software Engineer – Video Delivery

Brightcove is looking for a talented Sr. Software Engineer to be a part of our video delivery technologies team. Brightcove is the

leading on-line video platform provider in the world. We create delivery solutions that enable the world’s leading broadcasters,

publishers, and brands to deliver high quality video experiences to hundreds of millions of end users around the globe. This is your

RESPONSIBILITIES

 Design/architect and implement new features for our video delivery pipeline.

 Collaborate with team members, participating in architecture discussions and code reviews.

 Provide operational support as part of an on-call rotation by supporting and monitoring the performance of production systems.

Troubleshoot/fix issues that arise with deployed software.

 Keep up to date with standards for video delivery technologies by actively participating in online developers communities.

 Work in an agile environment with a distributed team of engineers creating new technologies and streamlining/enhancing

existing solutions for video delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS

 3+ years of software development experience.

 You need to be a polyglot programmer, comfortable in both object oriented and functional programming paradigms. Experience

in Golang, Scala, and/or Node.js is a plus.

 All our products run in AWS, so experience using AWS cloud services (S3, SQS, SNS, SWF, Dynamo, Lambda, Kinesis etc.) is

a plus.

 You need to be comfortable working with both relational and NoSQL data stores.

 Experience with video codecs and container formats, DRM technologies and CDN delivery is a plus.

 Familiarity with microservices based architectures leveraging Docker or other container-based deployments is desirable.

 Develop clean, high quality code even when working on extremely hard problems.

 Need to be proficient working with Linux and have a good understanding of OS internals.

 Self motivated, proactive and take ownership of issues.
