SAP BW Developer

THE CHALLENGE

Reporting to the BW Architect and based in Apex, NC, this role works closely with peers and internal customers to deliver, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance SAP functionality. The selected candidate will provide technical thought leadership to team members, and add value through consistent and demonstrated knowledge of BW, its integration with other modules and through constructive teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide functional and configuration knowledge in designing SAP solutions in the BW module of SAP to meet business requirements.
• Understand business processes and how the application supports such processes and applies knowledge to develop and implement solutions.
• Understand configuration dependencies and interrelationships between separate functional modules of SAP; use personal knowledge, skills and abilities to design and troubleshoot solutions.
• Conduct and/or participate in user requirements gathering and documentation designs.
• Create and propose alternative system solutions based on best practices and SAP BW functionality.
• Develop technical specifications and work with technical resources to complete object development and testing.
• Share knowledge to provide value across multiple groups.
• Defines standards and reusable approaches which benefit multiple cross-functional groups.
• Performs project related tasks needed to support the organization.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field preferred; may consider 6+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• 3+ experience of development and production support required; knowledge of BW versions 3.5 and 7.3 required.
• Demonstrated experience in migration of both backend (data-source and info-source) and frontend (queries and workbooks), versions 3.5 to 7.3 required.
• Must be proficient in developing queries and workbooks; multi-query workbooks for broadcasting.
• ABAP/4 required; proven experience enhancing and developing user exists and transformation rules.
• R/3 extractor experience required; prior experience implementing standard and custom extend.
• Quick learner with strong analytical and problem solving skills
