Mechanical Drafter/ Design (Entry Level)

Summary
Primary responsibilities include the input of a mathematical interpretation of an artist’s rendering into a computer to obtain the proper design to produce high quality inflatables.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design/create patterns to obtain high quality inflatables

• Create accurate, user friendly sewing instructions for Sewing Department
• Create artwork as necessary using Photoshop/Illustrator and set up to print
• Export patterns/artwork created to large format digital printers/automated cutting tables
• Be constantly aware of project due dates
• Follow all direction from Production Manager on project priorities
• Adjust to all changes in scheduling as required
• Monitor quality of projects
• Provide training of new employees in Department
• Demonstrate and encourage safe work practices at all times
• Comply with all company policies
• Assist in maintaining a neat and orderly plant
• Perform all duties in a manner consistent with the spirit of teamwork
• Perform all additional tasks as required by management

• Ability to maintain accurate, accessible records
• Proficiency with Design software programs including but not limited to: PatternSmith, Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator, Maya, Rhino, Design Layout 2D and 3D

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Language Skills

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing

Mathematical Skills

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume and ability to use and understand measurements and rulers

Physical Skills

• Position includes but is not limited to: sitting for extended periods, bending, walking, standing and stretching

Hours

• Time On-site Monday – Friday; 8:00am – 4:30pm; additional time as business necessitates and directed by management
