Responsibilities

Role Purpose

Responsibilities

Responsible for being the front line support for clients in basic troubleshooting to support the smooth operation of post-production facility

Responsible for escalating cases to Post Production Maintenance Engineers or Management and assisting when necessary in technical diagnosis

Implementation of a routine preventative maintenance, including software and hardware updates

Will operate within both the Post-Production and IT/Networking realms to perform critical circuit delivery and communication with the corporate network.

Responsible for the support of both Live and post production operations within the facility.

Responsible for timely and efficient communication of both problems and solutions to technical and non-technical personnel alike and will assist in developing new processes, technologies and techniques which will help to improve the running of the facility.

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications

Minimum two (2) years of experience in the technical support of a Post Production Facility or operation.

BS degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education/experience.

Knowledge and experience with Avid in Media Composer, Interplay and ISIS

Additional qualifications:
Experience with Avid Post Production environments essential, including Media Composer, Symphony, & Interplay PAM.

Strong understanding of Apple OS X, Microsoft Windows 7 and Server Operating Systems.

Experience and understanding of computer networks, including hardware, protocols and firewalls in a production environment.

Experience and understanding of data transfer acceleration systems such as Smartjog, Aspera, Signiant and SFTP a plus.

Clear understanding of a variety of audio and video CODECS, wrappers and the formats involved in file based workflows;

Good problem solving and communication skills are essential for this role.

Experience with PCOIP systems Remote Desktop PC Over IP

Good understanding of modern post production workflows and media management a plus;

Position requires excellent interpersonal skills and a cool, level headed individual who works well under the pressures of “live” television.
