Junior QA Engineer

As a QA Engineer on the Grass Valley QA team, you will perform hands-on and automated testing of industry-leading products and establish test plans and test cases for broadcast video on different hardware and software platforms. You will also be a key testing resource for delivering high quality solutions to our customers. Requirements

• 2+ years’ experience in hardware and software testing; both manual and automated.
• Analytical skills to be able to “translate” system requirements and use cases into detailed test cases.
• Knowledge of VMware and Virtualization testing.
• Experience working with Windows embedded software highly preferred.
• Knowledge of JIRA, Confluence and Test Rail highly preferred.
• Basic understanding of networking configurations, switch configurations preferred.
• Knowledge of video broadcast technology, and data storage preferred
• Ability to react quickly and adapt to changes in priorities, circumstances, and direction.
• Develop new testing approaches to accommodate tight schedules and resource constraints.
• Ability to exercise judgment with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
• Self-starter with a strong initiative for success.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle in an Agile environment
• Thorough understanding of software testing methods.
• Responsible for performance, scalability, functional and regression testing.
• Responsible for creating test plans and test cases.
• Responsible for documenting defects found using a bug tracking system and follow issues to resolution.
• Responsible for running test automation using test equipment and software scripts.
• Interact with development engineering and product owners.
• Investigate performance and stability issues involving a large, sophisticated, and evolving set of code bases
