Systems Automation Support Engineer

Summary:

  • The Engineer will oversee the entire post-production and live action compute environment.
  • The Engineer acts at the front line individual for troubleshooting and technical diagnosis.
  • The Engineer will implement hardware and software changes across the post-production environment.
  • They will coordinate with the post-production and live action team leads/managers to discuss the technical requirements for editing workflows and video ingest.
  • They are responsible for new station deployments, configurations, and the maintenance of the station equipment.
  • They will help design and manage complex edit stations over their life cycles.
  • They are instrumental in the design of future edit station build outs and work closely with the Infrastructure Engineering team.
  • Their skill set will also lead them to work closely with the Production Engineers.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage post-production hosts, both remote and on location
  • Manage post-production host configuration and deployment
  • Manage the imaging of new stations
  • Maintain post-production software standards
  • User account creation
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineering to assist in the requirement needs for future post-production hardware
  • Maintain close relationships with the content, production, and live action team to provide white glove treatment
  • Digital Asset Management of licenses used to deploy for future new hires
  • Licensing Compliance
  • Remote support for post-production machines
  • Backup for production engineer
  • Manage the ProdOps queue and address incoming issues

Key Qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ experience in a Production Environment
  • Strong MAC experience a must
  • Strong hardware repair/software troubleshooting skills
  • Casper Management Suite – package creation/update a plus
  • Basic understanding of Enterprise Storage (SAN, NAS, Fiber Channel)
  • Basic understanding of Active Directory
  • Experience with virtualization setup – eg. HyperV
  • Basic knowledge of UNIX, Windows, OSX, and TCP/IP network fundamentals
  • Ability to effectively communicate cross-functionally between content, production, live action, and engineering teams
  • Experience with remote management tools like: Apple Remote Desktop and Microsoft Remote Desktop
  • Strong documentation skills – Confluence
  • Ability to collaborate with the Infrastructure Engineering team to develop strategic plans across different hardware platforms, improving process and surpassing post-production standards
  • Adaptive and data-based approach to post-production environment improvements
  • Ability to work autonomously

$40-$50 Per Hour, depending on experience Carpinteria CA 93013 6 Month Assignment
