Description:

The Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group (SRG) of Leidos has an opportunity for an Aerospace Engineer – Flight Dynamics/Simulation, located in our in Huntsville, AL offices.

Successful Candidate will be responsible for the creating, modifying, and/or implementing physics-based simulations. This includes plant/environment models (such as high fidelity gravity, atmosphere, winds, flex-body effects, etc.), actuator models, and flex-body dynamics.

Candidate will also provide analysis and visualization of flight vehicle trajectories and using industry standard and Leidos proprietary software tools. Manipulate guidance and steering algorithms to affect flight performance. Analyze flight vehicle stability, including linear and non-linear effects. Model the dynamic response of flight vehicle structures to input stimuli. Engineer will be working as a key member of a small team challenged with an aggressive development schedule.

Qualifications:

Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or equivalent discipline and 8+ years of related experience.

Position also requires:

– Proficiency with developing source code in Matlab, Simulink, Python, and C.

– Proficiency with analysis and presentation (including visualization) of simulation results.

– Experienced in the creation and use of 3DOF and 6DOF simulations to improve vehicle performance.

Candidate must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance.
