Mechanical Engineering Part Time Student Intern Boston Area

Retained by insurance companies and attorneys alike, we provide our clients with expert testimony and accompanying visual narratives in a variety of areas. From motor vehicle, construction and slip and fall accidents, to building, product and machine failures, we provide our clients the ability to concisely present their cases to juries, judges and mediators.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are currently seeking a bright and energetic college student (junior or senior) to fill a part time, entry level position with an engineering or science background who has a basic understanding of graphics production (AutoCAD, 3D Studio, and Photoshop). Since no two cases are alike, the ideal candidate must have the ability to adapt to the unique and varied challenges that each new matter presents, while aiding our senior engineers and media producers in formulating engineering conclusions and content.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Take measurements, photographs, and video in the field.
• Use AutoCAD and/or 3D Studio Max to make 2D or 3D drawings and animations.
• Examine legal documents, engineering standards, engineering reports, and testimony.
• Analyze engineering conclusions to help determine validity.
• Research products, materials, and procedures.
• Research building codes, OSHA regulations, engineering standards, and relevant materials.
• Work in a small team environment to help develop engineering conclusions and opinions.
• Help draft engineering reports containing conclusions.
• Assist senior engineers in preparing to give expert testimony.
• Assist in the output of media production for mediation and trial.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Application of physics and geometric principles in a real world setting
• CAD, Excel and strong mathematic skills

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Animation/rendering using 3D Studio Max or similar programs
• Basic photography and videography skills
• Photogrammetric Analysis
• Photoshop, image editing and enhancement

Internship to start May/June 2017

Two days per week with potential to grow
