The Global Services Group has an opening for a Principal Weapons Technical Intelligence (WTI) Analyst (SA) to support the National Ground Intelligence Center. The successful candidate will report to the Program Manager within GSBU.

The Principal Senior Analyst produces WTI related intelligence assessments for formal production and release to the Intelligence Community (IC) and other consumers and leads efforts to identify new devices, initiators, and TTP on which to focus analytic efforts. The SPA assists with the training and mentoring of junior analysts and acts as the team leader for up to 20 analysts. The SPA coordinates all WTI related intelligence research and production activities of the team, tracking the status of production and timeliness of RFI responses, ensuring all activities are entered, and properly updated, in the CITP production tracker. The SPA coordinates and synchronizes activities of deployed and CONUS team members to ensure CONUS-based analysts are supporting deployed team members. The SPA conducts initial quality control of all team products and responses to RFIs. The SPA oversees the preparation of team members for OCONUS deployment, ensuring the contract analyst is technically qualified, completes all pre-deployment paperwork and processing, and has adequately coordinated in advance with the forward deployed analyst he/she is replacing. The SPA is responsible for the training of team members. candidate employees filling this position will be considered key personnel. Coordinates with other NGIC offices, IC and law enforcement, including the ATF and FBI Terrorist Explosives Device Analytical Center (TEDAC), and Theater intelligence resources to gather additional technical and forensic data and share analytic conclusions. The Journeyman analyst is capable of deployment throughout theater of operation to conduct WTI analysis. The SPA Conducts technical intelligence analysis of IED and other events incorporating WOCs, fusing the intelligence with other forensic data and all-source intelligence data to provide attribution of individuals and groups to devices and events. The SPA analyzes devices and events to determine profiles and enter the data into CITP IED databases. Identify insurgent and IED networks, which include leaders, facilitators, financiers, cell members and bomb makers to identify potential targets for possible lethal and non-lethal action. Coordinate with CITP network analysts, IED Branch, Anti-Armor Analysis Program, Biometrics Division, DSSE, and NGA GEOINT support to produce: WTI Profiles, TSP support products, Human Technical Intelligence Exploitation (HTIE) products, Interrogation Support Products (ISP), cache assessments, regional device pattern and trend studies, route device pattern and trend studies, TTPs, vulnerabilities and countermeasures studies, and IED technical profiles. Prepare and present intelligence briefings and presentations. Evaluate information reporting and sources. Answer Requests for Information (RFI). Develop Source Directed Requirements (SDR) Populate and Maintain CITP databases, production trackers and files. Upon successful pre-deployment evaluation, is capable of deploying to units requiring a low degree of targeting experience, and no specialized experience supporting special operations forces (SOF). These positions are considered low-risk assignments.

Qualifications:

This position requires individuals to be government trained intelligence analysts, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) specialists, or electronics technicians with a minimum of 8 years of experience dealing with IEDs and related triggering device technologies; however, on a case-by-case basis a badge and credentialed Law Enforcement officer with at least 8 years’ experience conducting investigations on an accredited Local/State/or Federal Law Enforcement Agency or EOD technical is acceptable. The candidate will be knowledgeable of improvised explosives, devices and their uses. The candidate will understand trend and pattern analysis, geospatial analysis, link analysis and network or social network analysis. The candidate will be experienced with data processing systems such as DCGS-A, CIDNE, and SIPRNET and JWICS search engines. The candidate will have a working knowledge of i2 Analyst Notebook, AXIS Pro, WebTAS, ArcGIS, and Google Earth.

The candidate will be proficient at using basic computer applications and intelligence related automation to support analytical efforts and product development; possess strong research and writing skills; and be capable of effectively operating alone in support of tactical, strategic and special operations forces conducting counterinsurgent/IED targeting. The candidate will train and mentor junior analysts to prepare them for deployment.

This position requires former military occupational speciality (MOS) 18C, 180A, 31D, 311D, 35D 35F, 350F, 35T, 35S, 89D, 94F, 94E, or DoD joint service equivalent, or civilian 0132, 1811, and a Bachelor’s Degree (may substitute 4 years of experience for education requirement).

Preferred Requirements:

Background in counter-terrorism, counter insurgency, or counter IED analysis and experience as an intelligence or targeting analyst in Afghanistan is desired.
