AMDA College and Conservatory of the Performing Arts is one of the foremost performing arts colleges in the country with campuses in Los Angeles and New York City. The school offers Bachelor of Fine Arts degree programs in Acting, Musical Theatre, Dance Theatre and Performing Arts as well as two year conservatory programs.
The Assistant to Film Production (Part-Time) is responsible for providing equipment for AMDA approved film productions. The AFP will work harmoniously with students, crews, directors, and AMDA staff to assure all projects are fully equipped and stay on schedule; meeting all outlined deadlines.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assuring all casts, crews, directors, and equipment are secured and in place for each film shoot (delivering equipment and directing crew to locations).
Assuring a safe work environment.
Supervising student workers and production assistants.
Ensuring locations are returned to initial condition and location guidelines are followed.
Assisting with setup and teardown for assigned film projects. Assist with shooting as necessary/requested. Communicate equipment delivery.
Organizing offer letters and verifying worker hours.
Coordinating meal breaks and company moves; making informed decisions regarding schedule changes or notifying supervisors of changes.
Completing wrap reports for each shoot per company policies.
Standing by via production cell phone during shooting hours.
Maintaining Film Production Equipment upon checkout and return, including: lighting equipment, film production cameras, film production tripods, on set sound equipment, grip equipment (tape, clamps, flags, C-Stands), etc. in an organized fashion.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in a related field preferred.
Experience in the Professional Film Production, A/V design and integration field in positions such as or similar to Assistant Director or Field Coordinator.
Expertise in standard tools, concepts, practices and procedures of the Professional Film Production + A/V field.
Excellent communication skills (written, and verbal).
Strong attention to details, highly organized, computer skills.
Friendly customer service and professional demeanor.
Familiarity with lighting tools, equipment, cameras, safety protocols, and G+E department.
Schedule:
On call as needed. No guarantee of regular hours.
May be scheduled weekdays, weekends and evenings as needed.
Physical Abilities Required:
Must be able to list up to 75 lbs consistently throughout shift
Must be able to climb stairs and ladders
