Automotive RF Engineer for Infotainment Systems

Columbus, Ohio area Major Automotive Original Equipment Manufacturer is seeking an Automotive RF Engineer for Infotainment Systems. This is an outstanding early career or entry-level opportunity for an enthusiastic team player! Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with Automotive Antennas for sound and reception system development in passenger automobiles. Expertise should include reception system experience and expertise, focusing on AM / FM / Cellular / DAB / DTV / Remote Keyless Entry / GPS / Satellite Radio antennas, tuners, and RF amplifiers. Antenna forms include printed on-glass, short roof mounted micro poles, sharkfin combination antennas, or patches mounted on the interior or exterior of the vehicle. Must have knowledge of the concepts in designing all portions of the reception system from the over the air broadcast signal, to analog or digital data output, to a vehicle’s customer interface (video display or audio system). Must also have an understanding of concepts and interfaces of each component, sound testing practices, and motivation to pursue new ideas in antenna technology. May handle some level of audio / sound component (audio amplifiers, speakers, microphones) development responsibility depending on the project needs. Will also be responsible for collecting and understanding the functional (hardware, software, and communication) requirements for infotainment system components and for proposing, developing, and justifying new functions (hardware, software, HMI, etc.) to meet the market requirements. Additional responsibilities include developing, writing, and issuing specifications for infotainment system components and creating and managing the part development schedule with consideration to all parties (supplier, designers, overall vehicle development, etc.). Finally, will perform all necessary vehicle testing (hardware and functional) to guarantee product acceptance for mass production. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in. Some minimal travel required.
