Camera Rentals Department Assistant – Paid Internship

We are looking for a technically savvy assistant in the rentals department at Studio B Films in Berkeley. This is a paid part-time internship that requires an average of one or two days a week commitment assisting the Rentals Manager in the office, with occasional opportunities to help out on Studio B shoots as a production assistant or other crew position. The internship is a great chance to learn new skills in a friendly, professional environment that fosters growth and enthusiasm. We are looking for someone who loves being around all kinds of video production gear and who has experience with various professional and consumer digital cameras. The perfect candidate is someone who has gone through a film or broadcast television BA program or has the equivalent on-set and technical experience. A driver’s license, a flexible schedule, and the ability to lift at least 50 pounds above your head are all required. You must be local to the SF Bay Area, the closer to Berkeley the better. Please only apply if you are available to work on weekdays and have the flexibility to change schedules weekly.

This internship will include prepping and staging camera packages for both rentals and internal shoots, booking gear rentals with clients, and making deliveries/pick-ups from different rental houses and production companies around the Bay Area. Other responsibilities include office maintenance, gear repair, media management and prep editing, and general PA work.

Compensation – The job pays a stipend of $80 a day (free lunch + parking included), with a 4-month commitment. If the internship goes well, we often hire alumni interns part-time or on a freelance basis. At the very least, we always like to recommend alumni interns to other production companies when the internship is over.
