We currently have an opening in our Lindon, Utah plant for a Product Design Engineer who will be responsible for developing new and existing product for our automatic safety cover product lines:

Detailed Responsibilities Include

• Designs and makes improvements to new and existing products to enhance product line category.
• Develops and maintains drawings, bills of material and documentation for assigned product category.
• Initiates and drives through completion of Engineering Change Orders (ECO) for new and existing product changes.
• Assists manufacturing with engineering and technical related issues related to manufacturing of product and manufacturing processes.
• Helps to establish new processes that improve efficiency of product manufacture and development.
• Leads assigned projects related to product development within product category line, ensuring that project management principles and company policies are followed from project initiation to completion.
• Works with customers to establish key initiatives for future product improvements and enhancements.
• Assists account managers with complex technical issues and support for customers when required.
• Provides technical training for account managers and operations on new and existing products.
• Establishes testing procedures and executes tests for product evaluation and testing.
• Evaluates existing products parts and processes for cost efficiency and reliability.
• Works with other members of the engineering staff to meet deadlines and ensure projects are finished in a timely manner.
• A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
• 2 or more years of experience in product design and development.
• Experience with product documentation and engineering change processes
• Experience with sheet metal, plastic parts design (design for injection molding), and extrusions
• Able to work on projects independently and on teams
• Basic understanding of material properties, stress analysis, static and dynamic loading required
• Software Experience in Solidworks and/or Inventor required, Microsoft Office Suite, Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator also desired
• PCB/Electrical layout and parts selection is a bonus
• Hands on experience with machining, fabrication and testing is desired
• Minimal travel required < 10%

Additional requirements for Sr. Design Engineer

• 6 or more years of experience in product design and development.
• Solid understanding of material properties, stress analysis, static and dynamic loading
• Able to own a project from initiation to completion

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $60,000.00 to $80,000.00 /year
