About the Job

We are searching for an experienced Digital Content Producer/Assignment Editor. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, producing dynamic written and video news content for all digital platforms including station website/apps, social media & OTT. Working quickly to send out breaking news, weather, and traffic alerts, including push notifications, social media updates and web stories that are updated as news develops. Creating innovative and user-friendly elements for consumption across our platforms.

Ability to perform assignment desk duties including monitoring news wires/police radios, maintain phone lists of sources, keep files/records of upcoming news events. Generate & provide story ideas, research as necessary. Direct videographers and reporters to gather daily news stories.

Qualifications/Requirements:

– Minimum 5 years of digital/news content producing experience at a local news or network news organization.
– Planning/assignment desk experience strongly preferred. Ambition to excel and a work ethic that leads by example.
– Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Broadcasting, Communications or equivalent training/experience strongly preferred.
