Responsibilities
- Assist with Avid editing system including IBM / SGL LTO archive systems maintenance. Coordinate with manufactures with remote technical support of Avid system and 3rd party support systems associated the editing system.
- Assist Production Departments with Studio and remote production support including equipment setup, testing and demand maintenance of auxiliary field equipment.
- Assist in all areas with broadcast equipment maintenance and with equipment installation projects.
- Coordinate with Fox Networking Engineering and Operations with local support of the BDN infrastructures including but not limited to broadcast equipment network connections.
- Facilitate the production and transmission of live studio, taped and remote productions. Provide technical/engineering support to Local Production Department and communicate effectively with Network Operations Center in The Woodlands, Texas staff and Chief Engineer.
- Troubleshoot technical problems and solve them in an effective and timely manner. Document needed maintenance and repairs on all technical production equipment.
- Provide AVID system support and maintenance. Support FTP site integration into the ISIS (Avid) server, INEWS maintenance and production integration. Support Digital Media Department with Avid archiving. Graphics systems support.
- Provide support and maintenance of IT, Networking, and Telecom equipment in the facility. Support network equipment maintenance, systems integration and build outs.
- Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 5 years technical experience required in studio operations, transmission and IT.
- BS degree preferred in broadcast engineering or related technical fields.
- Flexible hours/schedule and weekend shifts will be required.
- Must demonstrate strong analytical/communicative skills.
- Reasonable mathematical skills are required.
- A strong reasoning skill set is essential.
- Must be knowledgeable in all areas of technical broadcast production, and familiar with all broadcast production equipment and computers.
- Must be knowledgeable with basic MS Office, Apple Mac OS’s and Microsoft OS.
- Ability to update skills and knowledge is required to keep pace with changing technology.
