Graphic Designer Studio Assistant

We are an LA-based illustration studio creating story-driven projects and client work. Our studio focus is exploring visually engaging interactive storytelling, whether that is through a book, website, animation or app game. We also offer illustration design services to like-minded clients to help tell their story.

We’re looking for a talented junior-level graphic designer to join us : ) Since we are a small team where everyone wears many hats, this is also considered a studio assistant position.

**Please include your graphic design portfolio (PDF or link to website are both fine) along with a cover letter and resume. Applications without a portfolio will not be considered.** Recent/soon-to-be graduates are welcome, though some work experience is preferred.

Skills required:

– Keen eye for graphic design, including typography, color, layout, UX/UI, and ideally motion graphics

– Passion for observing and researching design trends

– Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects

– Ability to set and follow design guidelines

– Excellent collaboration and communication skills

– Ability to work as a team and independently (some days are in-office and some days are remote)

– Superb attention to detail and a love for making things pixel perfect

– Photography skills preferred

Your responsibilities will include:

– Working with creative director to establish graphic design systems both internally and for clients projects

– Graphic design for web and print collateral, e.g. emails, stationery, web assets, UI elements, marketing materials, etc.

– Produce and fine-tune print files, brand guides, etc.

– Export and manage creative assets

– Managing freelance designers and developers as needed

– Assist as needed for studio needs, including occasional help with retail fulfillment and market events.

Salary will depend on your level of experience and skill. This will start as a part-time, project-based job. If we work well together we’d love to grow the relationship to full-time.
