Position: Junior Designer

Looking for an ambitious multitalented junior designer who knows the ins and outs of both online and print design using the full Adobe Suite.
Through our range of core brands (marxfoods.com, marxpantry.com, newzealmeats.com, nafood.com, marximports.com) we get to design for both business and consumer markets. We do everything in house. Our Marketing Team is a team of 7 and includes a director, senior designer, two junior designers, a writer, a coordinator and a direct mail coordinator.
Your Responsibilities May Include
- Product photography and processing
- Email/HTML Promotions
- Print material
- Tradeshow displays
- Online advertising designs for social media
- Opportunities for video editing and shooting as well.
- Among other things.
There are some common denominator skills/traits that we are looking for (don’t worry…you don’t need to have them all, but you should have some/most):
The Ideal Candidate has the following traits:
- Full knowledge of the Adobe Suite, in particular, Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign in a PC environment
- Portfolio pieces demonstrating solid knowledge of business communication design, preferably in B2B, but also the ability to follow direction and maintain company messaging.
- Working Knowledge of print and web design processes and limitations.
- Experience in design/coding email promotions
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and related programs
Bonus Points:
- Video editing and production skills using Adobe software.
- Hand Drawn illustration ability in various styles
- Ability to code to modern standards including working knowledge of bootstrap, wordpress php and or Javascript.
- Working knowledge in handling professional camera gear
- Experience in food styling and photography
We are offering Full-time employment at $35-40K with Excellent Health Benefits, Paid Time off and an amazing work environment/culture. Schedule would be Monday – Friday.
