JOB SUMMARY
: The Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day process of digital production associated with multiple websites and digital platforms (B2C, B2B and International web sites, apps, mobile web). This position will manage the Digital Content Producers; conveying priorities, assisting with issues and developing a growth plan for the department and the team members. The position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to forecast issues and roadblocks. The Manager will closely monitor web edits and development requests. The Manager will work closely with various teams to ensure the quality of the request is adequate to execute superior results. The working environment is fast-paced and has frequent changes in priority. Attention to detail is critical to the success of each project. The Manager will represent eComm collaborating with various IT and Marketing teams to plan and execute processes that impact eComm and the Digital Content Production teams including their roles and responsibilities.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review, assign and oversee daily website production efforts performed by the web content production team. Supervise web content production staff to execute on website content and maintenance efforts as prioritized by the business. Traffic website production efforts through IMC, PM/Popcorn Village and IT to insure on-time implementation. Collaborate with Marketing teams to shift production schedules in an effort to accommodate all requests.
  • Serve as technical liaison with IT web development staff and collaborate on work efforts related to the content management system. Manage bug reporting and task progress. Strong participation in weekly Owned Content meeting to communicate status and facilitate prioritization.
  • Traffic website production efforts through IMC, PM/Popcorn and IT to insure on-time implementation. Manage website maintenance task list through Workamajig and established business and IT processes; find efficiencies where appropriate.
  • Manage 3rd party web content production resources as needed.

SCOPE: The Manager of Digital Content Production is responsible for working with internal cross-channel departments to facilitate web and mobile content publication. The volume and variation of work requires flexibility and management of a sizeable amount of requests both daily and on special occasions. This position is responsible for working within several Content Management Systems and other programs used to manage requests. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure optimal maintenance of existing digital properties as well as other new web sites and mobile applications.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced experience with technical and functional components of content management systems.
  • Advanced experience managing website, mobile web and mobile app content and development projects.
  • Ability to articulate business and product requirements into structured, executable specifications for implementation.
  • Excellent understanding of web design methods, UX/UI principles, wire framing, user flows and best practices.
  • Experience in facilitating prioritization and trade-off discussions with business and IT.
  • Editorial and operational skills with a deep understanding of the role content plays in supporting marketing and commerce.
  • Strong understanding of marketing and sales principles and their application to content marketing strategy for web and mobile.
  • Ability to communicate effectively on all levels, including concise verbal and written communication.
  • Strong knowledge of content management system’s core functionality and testing/ implementing solutions with CMS environment.
  • Thorough understanding of internet technologies including analytics and SEO, business concepts, security issues, and networking standards.
  • Strong use problem-solving and analytical skills to support and troubleshoot large-scale business applications.
  • Familiarity of Agile software development processes. Manage Content Production team as they work from high level requirements through detailed specifications, prototype, software deployment and administration.
  • Familiarity with web graphics and animation, using Adobe PhotoShop, Flash MX (2004), Image Ready and other tools on both Mac and PC platforms.


EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or equivalent experience is required.


EXPERIENCE:
5 to 7 years’ experience working in website production / development, project management, and design; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
