Packaging Designer

What you’ll do:

• Develop concepts and designs for packaging across Chewy private label brands
• Research packaging trends to deliver best-in-class, customer-centric packaging design solutions
• Execute a range of options for testing themes and positioning
• Work on creative initiatives from concept to completion (die-lines, renderings, mocks, print production, etc.), in conjunction with the Brand Development, Marketing and Operations teams
• Build organized, accurate production files along with comprehensive brand guidelines
• Deliver all phases of work within established packaging timelines and budgets
• Provide on-press supervision for major projects
• Exhibit a pixel-perfect attention to detail

What you’ll need:

• A strong portfolio showcasing real work and your design process
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Packaging, Industrial or Graphic Design or related field
• Strong design skill set proficient in illustration, iconography, typography and layout
• 3+ years of work experience in branding and consumer packaging design; creative agency experience a plus.
• Must have an entrepreneurial mindset and a relentless passion for beautiful crafted design, change and innovation
• Excellent storytelling skills to present and communicate your work
• Master of design tools: Sketch, Adobe CC, pen and paper, whiteboard and dry-erase markers
• Master of one or more prototyping tools: Frame, Flinto, Principle, Pixate, Origami, HTML/CSS/J, After Effects
• Strong visual design skills and background designing for systems (style guides, design patterns)
• The position is based in the Greater Fort Lauderdale, FL area.
