supplies complete modern fixed-site, shipboard, mobile, and man-portable TACAN & DME systems to the US and its allies.

The
Product Engineer
at
Moog Navigation and Surveillance Systems (NASS)
will be responsible for:

·
Providing lessons learned feedback and participate during the development design phase.

·
After transfer from Development Engineering to production, the Product Engineer has sustaining, design/documentation responsibility for the product.

·
During initial design, reviews all assembly documentation for areas of improvement based on knowledge and past experience.

·
Implements any permanent change or temporary deviation to the design or specification requirements.

·
Primary contact for vendors on manufacturing and technical issues.

·
Work with suppliers to resolve issues with purchased parts and material.

·
Strong understanding of Assembly and Test processes, procedures, and documentation.

·
Provide training and technical direction for production and test personnel.

·
Having a presence on the production floor and developing effective working relationships with the production personnel and the program support staff.

·
Effect a smooth product transfer from development into production by providing direction and assistance to the manufacturing floor and Contract Manufactures.

·
Focal point for resolving all questions/problems concerning assembly of production hardware.

·
Has Material Review Board authority and works closely with Quality Engineering to disposition nonconforming parts and material.

·
Provides technical support for analysis of failed units returned by the customer and in-house rejections.

·
Develops and initiates design changes for producibility and quality, and incorporates these improvements.

What we expect you to bring with you:

  • A Bachelor of
    Science in Electrical Engineering preferred, Manufacturing & Mechanical acceptable.
  • 5+ years of related experience in electronics and systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively to customers including people with English as a second language.

Self-starter willing to initiate action without prior counseling or direction.

·
The ability to coordinate and complete multiple tasks concurrently is required.

·
The incumbent will work under the guidance of a more experienced engineer in a team environment to contribute to the design, development, manufacture, assembly and test of complex hardware.

·
Possess strong organizational skills, written and oral communication skills along with analytical problem solving skills.

·
10% – 15% travel if necessary

  • The ability to troubleshoot complex problems with electronics and systems
  • Basic RF experience a plus.
