Position: Production Support Engineer

What you’ll be doing…
You will be a senior member of the Product Support team working on a variety of issues of different levels of complexity. You will also help lead small teams.
You will provide production support in a Linux environment for two Verizon applications that provide information to Verizon’s billing system. You will make sure all scheduled jobs are running properly. You will also ensure that the team meets daily SLAs delivering support on time. You will be part of the team as we move to AWS.
Team covers 7×16 shifts & On call rotation.

You are curious about new technology and the possibilities it creates. You enjoy working collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment to analyze and creatively solve complex problems. You want to transform the way we work on the inside to improve the experience we deliver on the outside.
You’ll need to have: Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience. Four or more years of relevant work experience. Hands on experience with Linux 6.x operations. Experience with Oracle/SQL. Scripting experience with Python, Bash or Shell scripting languages.
Even better if you have: PL/SQL experience. PERL scripting developer. Automation and monitoring tools developer. Exposure to Java production. Exposure DEVOPS tools including Jira, Git, Jenkins and/or Confluence. AWS working knowledge/AWS certification. Telecom rating/billing experience.
