Responsibilities:
The RF Engineer II primary responsibility is to design, test and integrate Small Cells, oDAS and iDAS systems. The RF Engineer II will create and develop technical standards and processes to provide solutions that meet business requirements and solve client issues. Ideal candidates will have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within Wireless RF Engineering, Small Cell and DAS applications and the ability to mentor and lead junior level engineers, technicians and support specialists on best practice solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Create RF designs for Small Cells, oDAS and iDAS systems using industry acceptable RF Design tools.
  • Perform RF measurements such as CW testing, Benchmark testing, Walk testing and Drive testing.
  • Creates technical reports as needed to complete project deliverables.
  • Develop design standards that will be adopted to support customer requirements.
  • Create processes and procedures to ensure high efficiency in performing design and testing tasks.
  • Travel to projects as needed to support project completion.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform as a professional and effective representative of Sitesafe when interacting with clients.
  • Proficiency in adapting and adjusting to changing environments and job requirements.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

  • Train and mentor junior level engineers, technicians and design support specialists.
  • Any other functions assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • BS Engineering degree or commensurate experience
    • 2 to 5 years Small Cell, oDAS, and iDAS design experience
    • Proficient in using macro network design tools. Atoll experience preferred.
  • Proficient in CW testing, Benchmark testing, walk testing, and drive testing.
  • Ability to travel 25 % of the time
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Outlook and Excel)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MS Visio is a plus
  • Self-motivated, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSURES, REGISTRATIONS

  • iBwave level 1 and 2 Certified Required. iBwave level 3 preferred.
  • Certified with multiple DAS and Small Cell OEMs . Certification with Ericsson, Nokia, CommScope, Corning, SOLiD, Teko preferred.

MENTAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to function in a fast pace office environment, multi task, effectively deal with in house personnel, good reading and math comprehension with attention to details.
  • Must have strong analytical skills and is able to provide recommendations in a timely manner.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Typical office physical requirements – sitting, walking, computer work, filing, etc.
  • Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs of weight.
  • Must be able to walk for long durations while performing walks tests while carrying a backpack and computer.
  • Ability to work outdoors in high locations (rooftops)

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Most of the time work in a typical office environment (not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions).
  • Work outdoors or indoors while performing RF measurement tests, site surveys, system integrations or commissioning.
