Responsibilities

Develop and manage project work plans and timelines for editorial, creative, digital, and multimedia work.

Secure scheduled feedback and approvals from communications and program teams.

Manage multiple projects and assist with resource management across digital and creative teams.

Review and report progress, managing obstacles and project communication as well as documenting issues and changes that affect the project.

Anticipate bottlenecks during high-production times and work closely with all relevant teams to manage expectations with stakeholders, propose solutions where needed, and help prioritize product delivery when necessary.

Support the development of procedures and training designed to help digital and creative staff determine more quickly which projects need strategic discussion vs. swift implementation. This includes working to advance current processes and gain efficiencies in the delivery of products and services.

Manage planning meetings and build relationships across departments.

Work closely with colleagues within communications and across departments to optimize the packaging and presentation of digital content to meet strategic goals.

Coordinate, review and post content on the our website as needed, using best practices for optimizing digital content.

Contribute to communications department tasks as well as broader Pew-wide projects and/or committees as needed.

Develop and maintain an informed awareness of relevant topics of interest.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

A minimum of four years of professional experience with progressive responsibility for developing and managing integrated digital communications projects.

Experience managing projects in an agency or nonprofit environment delivering content within editorial, multimedia, creative, and digital ­­­environments a plus.

Demonstrated time and project management skills, including an ability to meet multiple deadlines by identifying resources for digital projects and maintaining a high level of organization.

Ability to understand business needs and objectives and translate them into project requirements that inform efficient cross-functional work plans.

Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Flexible with the ability to routinely juggle multiple competing priorities and work in teams of both support and senior staff to meet project goals.

Excellent oral communications, writing, editing and research skills and the ability to work individually and in groups to meet goals. Proven ability to frame and draft clear and concise written messages.

Strong strategic and tactical web editorial skills, solid understanding of best practices for optimizing digital content and user experience, and knowledge of digital tools that assist strategic communications efforts. Possess an interest in learning new technologies, techniques, and practices.

Proven experience with project and resource management software: experience with WorkFront or similar platform strongly preferred.

Experience with content and workflow management systems, Adobe Creative Suite, and HTML editors, and analytics platforms preferred.

Experience building and managing relationships within and external to Pew and working within those networks to facilitate outcomes.
