Amazon Live , in New York City, NY, is seeking a Multimedia Center Network Engineer. This is a full time position for an individual to become part of a large team dedicated to the successful daily operations of a live streaming environment. Project management, system/workflow design, technical trouble shooting, daily operational upkeep, server-based record and play-out systems, MAM, non-linear editors, MPEG encoders, decoders, data networks, transmission equipment, leadership and effective communication are essential skills for the successful candidate. Extensive experience in a broadcast, digital live and taped environments will be essential as we design, build and expand. Basic Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a Multimedia Production and Engineering environment
  • 21st century skill set, a team-oriented attitude and a dedication to quality deliverables
  • A strong (broadcast) IT background
  • Ability to configure, test, maintain LAN/WAN equipment as well as identify and resolve network problems
  • Technical Installation experience, ability to maintain and/or repair encoders, receivers, cameras, production switchers, graphic systems, audio equipment, routers, automation/editing systems, intercoms, monitors and display systems
  • Ability to produce system/network/workflow design documentation leveraging CAD tools
  • Perform system maintenance including operating system patches, software upgrades and routine hardware configuration
  • Provide technical support to operational users and Media Center operations
  • Consult and communicate with engineering management and other engineers and staff on technical issues
  • Perform physical inventory of equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineering management experience in Multimedia Production, with an extensive background in digital broadcast, live and taped studio and field environments.
  • Strong leadership skills and exceptional communication skills, supporting in-house clients and staff
  • SBE, A+, Project Management Certification
  • Vendor management and negotiation skills
  • Working knowledge of large scale mechanical and power systems
  • Working knowledge of building codes and construction techniques
  • Ability to work night and/or weekend shifts on a scheduled basis
