Urban Planner

*DUTIES** Ideal candidate will be an individual who enjoys working independently or with a team.* Work in multiple planning disciplines, including municipal and regional planning, urban design, transportation, and environmental planning.* Project responsibilities will include business development, project management, GIS mapping and analysis, client communications, public outreach, stakeholder coordination, and technical report writing.* Should possess the ability to manage multiple projects for different clients over a variety of planning discipline.* Must be comfortable working independently with some supervision.* Must have a valid drivers license, have access to personal transportation, and be available for travel and evening meetings,* Successful candidate must be nimble, adjust rapidly to changes, and be able to self-manage while engaging in multiple tasks and roles.*REQUIREMENTS** Candidate must have a BS or MS in planning-related field.* AICP certification preferred – willingness to obtain one as a requirement.* Experience in MS Excel and /or database programs is a must.* Proficiency in GIS software (ARCGIS) a must.* Experience in graphic design software (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Sketch-up) is a plus.* Strong writing, specifically technical writing, and communication skills will be critical for successful candidates.* Ability to manage multiple tasks and schedules.* Experienced managing multiple, complex projects.
