Position: Video Services Administrator

Leads a team to produce highly creative television and digital media content for the City’s government communication channels, including social media and government access cable channels.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Coordinates, produces, and monitors video production, including script writing, set/lighting design, pre- and post-production activities and animation.
Leads video services team, including training, communicating job expectations, coaching/counseling, disciplining employees, and providing oversight and direction to employees in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and values. Helps set strategy for continued success.
Oversees direction/production of live broadcasts including, but not limited to, city council meetings.
Coordinates with departments to create new and ensure current digital /broadcast media content contains up-to-date and accurate information.
Ensures production of fresh content for the City’s social media and PEG channels that reflects the department’s desire for creative storytelling.
Serves as consultant for departments on digital media and video production.
Manages and coordinates activities related to the implementation of the City’s cable franchise system.
Operates audio and video equipment such as, but not limited to, television cameras, switchers, microphones, audio mixers, recorders/players, edit controllers, character generators and lighting instruments.
Oversees creation of video/digital media content using software including, but not limited to, Adobe Premiere Pro. Working knowledge of such software is preferred.
Assists in the maintenance of records, supply inventories, time, and materials costs of projects.
Assists with the maintenance of broadcast/digital media equipment. Works with vendors to ensure A/V projects are properly designed, and equipment is properly installed and serviced as needed.
Prepares and manages annual budget for the division or agency. Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises team that includes full-time video production engineers, production specialists, video production coordinator, and some interns.
Typical Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Video Production, Broadcasting, Communications or related field and six years of experience in broadcast/digital production, or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Experience leading teams a must. Experience with PEG channels preferred but not required.
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
Licensing/Certifications
Valid NC Driver’s License required.

Positions in this class typically require: fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Sedentary Work:
