The SDVoE Alliance, a nonprofit consortium of technology providers collaborating to standardize the adoption of Ethernet to transport AV signals in professional AV environments, announces that AVPro Edge has elevated its membership status to become a steering member of the SDVoE Alliance. As a result, AVPro Edge joins the SDVoE Alliance board of directors, empowering them to play a more influential role in the organization’s strategic direction.
“The SDVoE Alliance is thrilled to welcome AVPro Edge as a steering member,” said Stephane Tremblay, president of the SDVoE Alliance. “Their expanded involvement strengthens the Alliance’s mission to provide a standardized platform that delivers reliable, cost-effective AV solutions, while advancing the industry’s shift toward more networked systems.”
AVPro Edge joined the SDVoE Alliance in early 2023 and, after recognizing the extensive benefits and collaborative opportunities, has now opted to expand its commitment to a steering-level membership. This move highlights the growth of the SDVoE Alliance as it continues to reshape the AV industry by advocating for a unified, standards-based architecture of AV-over-IP devices.
AVPro Edge’s MXNet 10G, which leverages SDVoE technology, is designed to tackle the demands of high-end commercial and residential projects. The MXNet 10G operates over a robust 10Gbps Ethernet network, seamlessly bridging endpoints with a comprehensive software platform that integrates audio, video, USB, KVM and control signals. By utilizing SDVoE’s ASIC-based architecture, MXNet 10G unifies multiple functionalities into a streamlined form factor.
AVPro Edge’s expansion to a steering member aligns with the company’s commitment to advancing the convergence of AV and IT. As Kevin Wang, Vice President of the MXnet Systems Group at AVPro Global, explained, “We are thrilled to join the SDVoE Alliance as a Steering Member. With the growing convergence of AV and IT, AV over IP has become a widely adopted technology across the systems integration industry. AVPro will leverage the engineering experience we have accrued over the past decade to drive innovation, helping to make AV systems more digital, networked, and intelligent, ultimately benefiting our customers.”
The SDVoE Alliance creates a flexible hardware and software platform ideal for AV extension and distribution, KVM, video walls, and multiview image processing. Its seamless integration into networkable sources and displays facilitates the development of new, sophisticated applications. The SDVoE Alliance promotes a system architecture that is more flexible, reliable, and cost-effective compared to traditional point-to-point connectivity and circuit switches. As the only off-the-shelf solution providing a comprehensive AV platform, SDVoE eliminates the need for manufacturers and users to assemble disparate components, offering an all-encompassing, integrated solution.
