The Neurotrauma Laboratory at the Indiana University-Bloomington is actively
seeking one or two new doctoral (Ph.D.) student in the Department of Kinesiology to study the effects of concussion and subconcussive head impacts. The laboratory particularly focuses on the ocular-motor system, neuronal connectivity (with using EEG), and blood biomarkers in response to repetitive subconcussive hits.

The student will learn and work under the supervision of Keisuke Kawata, Ph.D., ATC. Applicants should hold a master degree (by 8/1/2017), or equivalent, in any area of health/medical profession (e.g., kinesiology, neuroscience, athletic training, exercise physiology, physical therapy, biomedical science, biology). One’s primary interest should be centered around traumatic brain injury (e.g., concussion, subconcussion), but there will be a numerous inter-disciplinary collaboration.

Previous research experience, journal publications, high GRE scores, and a high GPA from previous academic work are desirable, but one’s dedication and enthusiasm will be highly valued.

The student will be fully supported (tuition and stipend) and begin doctoral research and course work in August 2017.
