Job Responsibilities
This is the lead technical role for enterprise audio and video conferencing at Synaptics. The Unified Communications Engineer designs, operates, troubleshoots and maintains Synaptics’ global audio and video conferencing and IP Telephony/VOIP infrastructure. The UC Engineer is also responsible for supporting live events such as the quarterly All Hands meeting, and coordinating with internal customers and external vendors.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting audio and video conferencing infrastructure on a global scale, including live event production and streaming via WebEx and similar services
- Must have one the following certs (or equivalent experience): CCNA, CCNP, CCVP
- Must have experience supporting executives and senior management teams
- Must have experience providing support to users in large enterprise environments
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Must possess excellent organizational and time management skills and must be very detail oriented
- Excellent and thorough verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency with common tools such as Microsoft Office, Visio, and popular ticketing systems such as Remedy and ServiceNow
- Must be able to establish priorities, work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent documentation skills
Skills
- Cisco/Tandberg administration and support
- Polycom administration and support
- Crestron administration and support (programming highly desired)
- Experience with Shure and ClearOne audio products
- Deep understanding of the following Protocols: SIP, RTP, G.711 and G.729 codecs, DTMF, H.323/H.324
- Skype integration/support as it relates to UC
- Experience installing, troubleshooting, maintaining AD/DA converters and codec equipment
- Experience providing IP Telephony and VOIP support – (ShoreTel desired)
- Experience troubleshooting telecom infrastructure
- Experience troubleshooting LAN/WAN issues related to telecom infrastructure
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining PRI, T1 circuits
- Experience with SBC equipment is a plus
