Network Operations and Maintenance:
Experience with one or more of the following: alarm surveillance, fault management, configuration management, LAN maintenance, performance management.
Expertise in one or more of the following: Routers; Switches; Crypto devices; Routing, Network appliances (CSU, DSU, etc), DSN/DRSN, DVSG, GVS, ATM, Promina, CISCO MSPP, DWDM, Optical Switching
General understanding of network topologies, both transport and IP.
Ability to work in a team focused, dynamic environment.
Requires expertise in one or more of the following devices/vendors: CISCO, Juniper, SONET, SONUS, Nortel, Avaya, Ciena, Sycamore or Marconi.
Ability to perform troubleshooting, configuration, and restoration of services across multiple platforms.
Requires experience in one or more of the following Crypto devices: KG-340, KG-175A/D, KIV-7, KIV-19.
GTMS/ITSM Remedy:
Understands the customer relationship tool which can be used to log/monitor the issues or problems faced by customers by the means of incident management tickets.
Understand the functions multiple RFO, and charging the correct Fault Durations Hours to each Fault Category.
Supports team members in taking ownership of tickets and updates the Action/Work log (troubleshooting steps performed during the selected course of action).
– Hold DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE, CISSP or equivalent) prior to start date.
Job Description
Our customer is the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) located at
Scott AFB, IL and acts as the provider of GIG/Defense Information System
Network (DISN) services to its customers the department of Defense (DoD) and national security organizations. To achieve this, DISA is seeking reliable, cost effective solutions to acquire Operations and Maintenance (O&M) for the CONUS and OCONUS network and provide the support necessary to carry out the day-to-day operations and sustainment of GIG networks and related services. The core telecommunications capabilities supported by GSM-O enables the Warfighter to meet operational needs by providing world-wide telecommunications, supporting natural disaster relief, and conducting humanitarian assistance in peace time crises, regional conflicts, and at the same time executing on-going strategic deterrence activities.
This position directly supports the DISA-provided GIG capabilities and
services in our 24×7 Global Network Support Center (GNSC) working in our Transport, IP, and / or Unified Capabilities (UC) NOC. We work in a performance-based environment where our performance is based on pre-determined Service Level Agreement’s (SLA’s) or Acceptable Levels of Performance (ALP’s).
Candidate will be “mission essential” and able to support rotating 12, 10, or 8hrs shifts based upon the requirement and resources available. Candidate is familiar performing within a fixed price, performance-based environment where performance is based on pre-determined Service Level Agreement’s (SLA’s) or Acceptable Levels of Performance (ALP’s). Candidate is required to supports the development, documentation and tracking of measurements and metrics relevant to the ALP’s. Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
