Broadcast Engineer, Technical Lead

The purpose of this position is to serve as a Technical Lead during installation, maintenance, repair and full operation of equipment utilized in live event signal transmission and equipment utilized for distribution of final program signals from the network to the Teleport for distribution to the home viewer.

• This position requires good organizational, leadership, electronic maintenance and highly technical operations skills.
• This position requires 24/7/365 shift work and serves specifically as a lead role during major high profile events.
• The skill set demanded by this position are dynamic and have, and will continue to change rapidly.
• This individual must demonstrate the ability to accept and adapt to these changes while presenting a willing and positive attitude
• This position will serve as Operational Lead to oversee and provide guidance to the day to day operations of the TOC, oversee and/or coordinate the transmission paths of live and taped events as well as network signals.
• Provide technical oversight, Coach and /mentor staff in regards to technical systems utilized for day-to-day operation and responsibilities.
• Cultivate cooperative relationships between customers and Engineering staff to ensure technical as well as operational readiness.
• Provide daily reporting related to operational issues and/or Air impacting events.
• Accountable for development, testing and implementation of new systems, software and equipment.
• Create and maintain documentation on transmission operations, processes/procedures, equipment & equipment systems.

What do we need from you?

• 3+ Years of live event technical operational experience.
• 2+ Years television maintenance experience Demonstrated understanding of MPEG compression technology.
• Demonstrated understanding of RF transmission technology.
• Demonstrated understanding of fiber optic technology and broadcast satellite systems.
