Acts as a resource to Transportation supervisors, managers and director to achieve quality assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements; implementing change.

Manages personnel resources activities to meet departmental goals and objectives within all policies and procedures. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele. Reports to the Director of Transportation.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in business discipline or 3-5 years’ experience in quality/process control.

2. Extremely strong verbal and written communication skills.

3. Demonstrate skills in leadership, teamwork, and team building with emphasis in the following: basic process improvement models, information analysis, strategic planning, emphasizing excellence, attention to detail, thoroughness, dealing with complexity.

4. Knowledge and understanding of current computer technology including hardware and software.

5. Proficient use of Microsoft Office, Visio, Project, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, and related transportation industry software.

6. Proficient in electronic data management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop and oversee implementation of Transportation department standard operating processes and procedures including but not limited to: Dispatch, Fleet, Payroll, Operations, Route Planning, Safety and Training, and Student Management. Ensure data consistency department wide.

2. Develop and oversee standardization of departmental forms to ensure conformity throughout the department.

3. Assists in strategic planning for department by providing analysis of historical data pertinent to the department, including personnel trends and department demographics.

4. Oversees human resources activities, including interviewing/hiring, directing, mentoring, determining training needs, conducting performance evaluation, and terminations.

5. Conduct job auditing among staff to ensure job responsibilities are in alignment with compensation, including conducting salary surveys with support from Human Resources to determine and recommend adequate salaries to meet current market demand.

6. Responsible for supervision of department data management, including determining hardware and software needed and oversight of data entry personnel. Maintain electronic employee databases in designated software, e.g., Routefinder Pro, Synovia, or other software used for tracking employee information.

7. Revise and update all department employee handbooks and operation reference manuals.

8. Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Must have experience in process and documentation control.

Prefer minimum of 3 years work experience in pupil transportation.

Occasional bending, reaching, climbing

Moderate physical effort (lifting up to 25 pounds)

Eye/hand coordination (e.g., typing, ten key)
