Part-time Web Design Engineer 1-Contingent

As part of the Communications Team, this position works to communicate a wide range of messages in creative ways. The graphic designer works independently and as part of a team, showing good judgment in leading discussions that further develop the creative vision of the team. Incumbents should have a passion for branding, strong conceptualization skills, and a demonstrated ability to solve diverse problems through effective design. This includes an understanding of and growing capability in interactive and user experience design and video production/editing skills. This individual works with divine guidance to provide or support technology that furthers the mission of the Church and reflects the eternal impact of the gospel.

Responsibilities

Influence and guide visual strategy for ICS, maintaining a consistent look and feel that supports ICS messages

Execute communications strategy by generating strong design and/or video concepts and meeting budget constraints

Consult on key messaging tactics for ICS

Collaborate on the production of communications materials, such as printed materials, presentations, websites, email, videos, other media and materials as needed

Manage multiple projects/priorities

Help with photography on location at events

Qualifications

B.A. in graphic design or multimedia field or equivalent experience

2-5 years of industry graphics and/or video experience

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize competing demands, and work with tight deadlines

A good understanding of typography, layout, and design

Demonstrated effectiveness in learning new programs and growing capability as technology develops

Well-developed interpersonal and problem solving skills

Seasoned and experienced in industry standard programs (Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premier Pro/Final Cut Pro, and After Effects)

Able to work modern cameras and have an eye for visually interesting compositions and scenes

Some knowledge of html/CSS or other related programming is a plus

Worthiness Qualification

Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
