CreativeLive is looking for talented entry-level front-end developers to join our growing technical team in our San Francisco office. You will be helping forge a new frontier in interactive online education, leveraging and contributing to open source technology.
Our entry-level roles are three month contract-to-hire positions where you will get a deep introduction to our platform, with the intent of quickly ramping you up to shipping user-facing features. After successfully completing the initial contract, you’ll become a full-time engineer on one of our several teams! At this time, we can only offer this opportunity to applicants local to our San Francisco office.
Front-End development isn’t just about writing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; it’s about bringing a beautiful and intuitive experience to users across devices. If you care deeply about design, user experience, and beautiful code, then you might find a home here at CreativeLive.
Along with your fellow engineers, you’ll be working on an integrated product team to continuously improve the CreativeLive site and internal tools by
- prototyping and testing new experiences
- implementing new and enhanced site features
- iterating on designs based on data analysis and A/B testing
- actively contributing to refining our Agile development processes

What we’re looking for:
- A passion for beautiful user experience and design.
- Experience writing non-trivial applications in Javascript.
- Excellent HTML/CSS skills and ability to write solid CSS in Less.
- A good understanding of how to create responsive websites.
- Familiarity with Node.js and the common frameworks and npm modules.
- An active portfolio site and/or Github account, showcasing several of your own projects.
- Ability to extract the assets you need from Photoshop files.
Bonus points for:
- Experience with Angular
- Comfort navigating Unix and Linux
